What do the Dalai Lama and nuclear weapons have
in common?
If that seems like an odd question – it should! The Dalai Lama, in accepting the
Distinguished Peace Leader award from the Nuclear Age Peace Foundation in 1991,
spoke on the dangers of nuclear weapons and prospects for a world free of
nuclear weapons leading to peace. As an
advocate for non-violence and peaceful resolutions to conflict, the Dalai Lama
stands for everything that nuclear weapons do not; the Dalai Lama stands for
compassion, dialogue and peace.
The Nuclear Age Peace Foundation endeavors to make the world safer and we
need your help to achieve this goal of a nuclear weapons-free world! We see the upcoming election as key in making
the world safer for generations to come.
The next President of the United States has the capability to
abolish nuclear weapons altogether. We
are sending an Appeal to the Next President of the United States, and we are trying to
gather a million signatures before it is sent to him on January 22, 2009.
So do your part to make the world safer and sign
the Appeal today!
